O Vasco encaminhou nesta quarta-feira o empréstimo do goleiro Gabriel Félix para o Fortaleza, que disputa e atualmente ocupa a liderança da Série B do Campeonato Brasileiro. O arqueiro, inclusive, nem participou do treinamento do Cruz-Maltino na manhã desta quarta para tratar os detalhes finais sobre a negociação. A confirmação do acerto entre as partes ocorrerá somente após Félix realizar os exames médicos na equipe cearense e assinar o contrato, o que deve acontecer ainda nesta semana.

Gabriel Félix é cria das categorias de base do Vasco. Aos 23 anos, o goleiro está em São Januário desde 2011. Estreou pelo profissional somente no ano passado, em vitória sobre o Santos no Brasileiro. Porém, com a contratação de Fernando Miguel neste ano e o retorno de Jordi, emprestado no fim do ano passado ao Irã, Félix acabou perdendo espaço no elenco. Ao todo, participou de sete partidas, com duas vitórias, dois empates e três derrotas.

Junto aos torcedores, Gabriel Félix vinha sendo bastante criticado. O goleiro se envolveu em algumas polêmicas, com a mais marcante sendo durante a disputa do Vasco na Conmebol Libertadores desta temporada. Ao publicar uma foto criticando a torcida na rede social em maio, ele acabou sendo punido pelo presidente Alexandre Campello, retornando ao Brasil em separado. Ao lado de Paulão, Wellington e Evander, Gabriel Félix terminou sendo afastado por alguns dias do grupo pela atitude.

Curiosamente depois deste episódio, o quarteto perdeu espaço. E se confirmando a saída de Gabriel Félix, todos os que publicaram a polêmica foto acabarão não fazendo mais parte do Vasco: Paulão já se transferiu para o América-MG, Wellington ao Atlético-PR e Evander ao Midtjylland, da Dinamarca. Também na foto, mas sem tê-la publicado – o que fez não ser punido na época -, Erazo também já deixou o Vasco (foi para o Barcelona, do Equador). O que faria somente Rafael Galhardo e Fabrício permancerem por enquanto em São Januário.

Adil Rashid, the Yorkshire legspinner, has been left out of the squad to play Northamptonshire at Headingley this week. He has played every County Championship match so far this season but his poor form sees Azeem Rafiq, the offspinner, take his place.Rashid, 24, has struggled in early season conditions, taking nine wickets at 49.00 and scoring 92 runs in his six matches, including a half-century in the opening match against Kent. By contrast, last season he began in excellent form, taking 11 wickets in the opening match at New Road. In 2008 he took 10 wickets in the first seven matches before claiming 55 in the final 11 games.Rafiq, 21, last played a Championship match for Yorkshire in 2010 and during that season he was sacked as England Under-19 captain then banned for a month after a Twitter outburst against the coaching staff. He spent last year on loan at Derbyshire, taking eight wickets in three matches. Derbyshire are also the club where Yorkshire’s other specialist spinner from last season, David Wainwright, left for. Wainwright has enjoyed an excellent start to 2012 having left Yorkshire due to a lack of first-team opportunities; Rashid being the favoured selection.But Rashid’s stock has fallen after a much-vaunted first five years of his career. Kevin Pietersen has been fined an undisclosed sum for comments he made on Twitter about Nick Knight following a disciplinary hearing involving Hugh Morris, the managing director of England cricket, and team director Andy Flower.Pietersen has made no secret about his disagreements with Knight, the former England batsman who is now a Sky Sports commentator, and recently posted this remark. “Can somebody please tell me how Nick Knight has worked his way into the commentary box for the Tests?? Ridiculous.”An ECB statement said: “The hearing considered recent comments made by Pietersen on Twitter to be prejudicial to the interests of the ECB and a breach of the England player conditions of employment in relation to clauses regarding public statements.”Pietersen has been fined an undisclosed sum, part of which has been suspended for 12 months, in accordance with the terms and conditions of his England central contract.”Andrew Strauss, speaking ahead of the second Test against West Indies, said Twitter would throw up these situations. “There are always shades of grey,” he told Sky Sports. “It does a really good publicising job but players can find themselves in hot water occasionally. There’s a line they need to tread. You will get occasions when people slip up and they will be dealt with accordingly.”Pietersen’s animosity is thought to originate from Knight’s suggestion when his form was at its lowest that he was no longer worth a place in England’s one-day side.In January, Sky agreed a new four-year deal to show live international and county cricket believed to be worth about £280 million ($440 million) betrween 2013-17 with an option for a further two years. The deal provides the bulk of the ECB’s income.The ECB punishment of a player for rubbishing a member of the media is at the very least out of character, and perhaps unique.
