But if you ask my family, it’s a seven-day summer. It’s a commitment.”Burdett started work at the Adelaide Oval as an 18-year-old in 1969 and took over as curator in 1978. His expertise has been in demand overseas and he has helped in pitch preparation in several countries, such as India, South Africa and Malaysia.James Sutherland, Cricket Australia’s chief executive, said: “Obviously the Adelaide Oval is one of the most beautiful grounds in the world and he’s always been very proud of the way he’s kept that ground. He’s done a lot more than just that and he’s played a role throughout Australian cricket as a consultant to us.”Federal Sports Minister Kate Ellis termed it a sad day. “I don’t think many other grounds meet the standard of this picturesque venue, there aren’t too many cricketing venues in the world that are held in the same esteem as Adelaide Oval and Les’ legacy will live on in this amazing venue.”

Em mais um passo na preparação para exercer a função de técnico de futebol, o ex-zagueiro Bolívar concluiu neste domingo, em Salvador (BA), o curso Licença B, ministrado pela CBF Academy. Após a conclusão deste módulo de estudos, o ex-jogador está apto a assumir o comando de uma equipe de futebol profissional no Brasil.

O período de estudos deste módulo teve duração de 15 a 26 deste mês de novembro. Satisfeito com o desenvolvimento do trabalho, o ex-jogador falou da experiência vivida na capital baiana.

– O futebol tem evoluído muito conceitualmente nos últimos anos, e nós, ex-atletas, que desejamos ingressar na carreira de treinador, devemos buscar estes conceitos, nos atualizarmos, para estarmos preparados para este novo desafio. É preciso estar atualizado em relação ao que está sendo feito mundialmente. Estes dias em Salvador acrescentaram muito. Tivemos uma troca de experiências muito grande com outros profissionais, ex-jogadores ou não, que também estão em busca deste crescimento – disse Bolívar.

As aulas teóricas foram aplicadas aos alunos na Universidade Católica de Salvador. As aulas práticas aconteceram no Fazendão, Centro de Treinamento do Bahia, no Estádio de Pituaçu, e no Estádio Manoel Barradas, o Barradão. Carlos Amadeu, técnico da Seleção Brasileira Sub-17, Eduardo Barroca, técnico da equipe Sub-20 do Botafogo, André Jardine, do São Paulo Futebol Clube, o diretor Osvaldo Torres, e Mauricio Marques.

– Este curso da Licença B – que é voltado para quem quer trabalhar com as categorias de base -, foi mais um importante passo neste meu objetivo, que era o de me tornar técnico de futebol. Tenho estudado, aprendido sobre os conceitos, táticas de jogo, nomenclaturas, enfim… Tenho buscado muito estes conhecimentos para colocar em prática quando tiver minha primeira experiência como treinador – afirmou o ex-zagueiro, de 37 anos.

Ex-jogador de clubes como Internacional, Botafogo, Portuguesa, e Monaco, da França, Bolívar encerrou a carreira há dois anos. Desde o início deste ano, o ex-defensor fez estágios com os técnicos Vagner Mancini, Mano Menezes e Roger Machado. Porém, ele pretende cursar os demais módulos que a Confederação Brasileira de Futebol disponibiliza atualmente para formar os treinadores do futebol brasileiro.

وتابع: “منتخب السنغال الأفضل في القارة وتجربة كيروش مع مصر كانت ناجحة، رغم أنها كانت مريرة في آخرها”.

وواصل: “الاتجاه كان التجديد لـ كيروش، لكن ما حدث في الفترة الأخيرة جعله يرحل ويدرب إيران، وأنا حصلت على مستحقاتي المتأخرة، لكن كيروش لا حتى الآن”.

عن اجتماعه مع جمال محمد علي رئيس إدارة المدربين باتحاد الكرة، قال: “تحدثت معه عن الكرة المصرية وقلت له إنني تركت توثيقات في اتحاد الكرة قد تفيد للمرحلة القادمة، وأنا أكدت له إنني مستعد للمساعدة بدون مقابل لأنني عندما عملت في مصر لم يكن بغرض الأموال”.

According to Football Insider sources, there is movement already in the transfer window for Tottenham, as Wolves have submitted a bid for defender Matt Doherty.

The Lowdown: Lacking game time

Doherty has struggled for first-team minutes since joining Spurs in 2020, and this has particularly been an issue this season, as the right-back is yet to start a Premier League match.

Summer signing Emerson Royal has emerged as Antonio Conte’s first choice at right-wing-back, having replaced the unreliable Serge Aurier, who was released by the Lilywhites at the end of last season.

Whilst at Wolves, Doherty tied with Raul Jimenez for the club’s top goal-scorer in their impressive 2018/19 FA Cup run, proving his capabilities as an attacking outlet over a long period of time with 28 goals and 41 assists in an Old Gold shirt overall.

However, since arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the full-back is yet to register a goal in 39 appearances in a Spurs shirt.

The Latest: Wolves keen on re-signing Doherty

According to Football Insider, citing information from a ‘recruitment source’, the West Midlands outfit are keen on re-signing the defender in the January transfer window and have already submitted a bid.

The two clubs are now set to hold talks over a permanent deal, or a loan with an obligation to buy.

It is believed that Spurs are willing to listen to offers for the out-of-favour Doherty, as he has failed to secure his spot in the starting 11.

Wolves are seeking competition for Nelson Semedo, who they had signed as a direct replacement for the Republic of Ireland international.

The Verdict: A good move for Doherty

A return to the Molineux Stadium may revive Doherty’s career in the top-flight, as it was at Wolves where the Irishman played his finest football.

Making over 300 appearances for the club, Doherty put in some fantastic performances, with Match of the Day pundit and former Spurs man Jermaine Jenas labelling him ‘sensational’ back in 2018.

The right-back has more recently been lauded as ‘Ireland’s best player in most games’, so while he certainly hasn’t found form in north London, he hasn’t lost any of the ability that earned him his big move in the first place.

A permanent deal seems like a win for all parties, granting the player a chance to revitalise his career, Wolves added depth in an important position for Bruno Lage and Tottenham a fee which can be reinvested into Conte’s squad.

Crystal Palace have not made any signings as of yet in the winter transfer window, despite being linked with a number of players, including Aaron Ramsey and now a transfer expert can reveal that a move could potentially be on the cards.

What’s the word?

In an interview with FFC, transfer insider Dean Jones, has said that a move for the Wales midfielder is certainly feasible.

Speaking to Jones about the potential option of the South London club signing the 29-year-old midfielder in the transfer window, he revealed:

“So, Aaron Ramsey to Crystal Palace is one that I’ve been told is definitely feasible. It is an option, yeah.”

The central midfielder is reportedly being released by Juventus, where he fell out of favour in the team after joining the Serie A side in 2019, making just 70 appearances and scoring six goals, with only five appearances and one start in the team under the current manager, Massimiliano Allegri.

The ex-Arsenal player has been touted with a move back to the Premier League, with speculated links to Newcastle United, Everton and Crystal Palace over the last few months.

Gallagher replacement inbound?

Conor Gallagher has been an incredible presence in the midfield this season for Crystal Palace, and with the star set to go back to his parent club, Chelsea in the summer, there is a huge question mark hanging over the next steps to replace the youngster in their team when he does inevitably leave.

Thus, fans will be buzzing that a potential replacement who is experienced in midfield and familiar with their manager Patrick Vieira, could make a move to the club, with the Palace manager making it clear about his feelings on Ramsey in his press conference last week, saying:

“We are talking about a top player and of a footballer that can make a difference. If he wants to return to the Premier League, he can be a big hit.”

When you look at Ramsey’s last stint in the Premier League with Arsenal, he clearly knows how to get the best out of his game from his midfield position in the league, with 65 goals and 65 assists, scoring or assisting for the Gunners every 185 minutes he played.

Eagles fans have also given their thoughts on the potential signing of the 29-year-old, with many taking to Twitter to give their verdict, one fan saying:

“People forget just how good Aaron Ramsey was before his move from Arsenal. Under Wenger, he was one of the best midfielders in the league. For a decent price, he is very worth it.”

Vieira will be hoping to make his mark by exceeding expectations in his first season at Selhurst Park, and signing the Wales international could be a fantastic way to give him that push to secure that top-half finish.

It would add experience and proven ability to offer a consistent attacking output in the Premier League, so it will be interesting to see if the Eagles can make it happen this January. If they do, fans will understandably be elated, especially if they seal a long-term replacement for Gallagher.

Yeah right.In the same over, after giving chase to a well-placed clip from Tendulkar through midwicket, a 28-year-old Gautam Gambhir pulled up with a sore hamstring. He had to leave the field before the start of the second over, while the two old men continued stealing ones and twos from under the fielders’ noses.Lord of the fans
Gambhir pointed out how crucial the home fans would be for his team tonight, even going as far as to say they would be the 12th man, but the crowd’s reaction to each run Tendulkar gathered made it sound more like Dadar than Delhi. When Tendulkar clipped three runs, collecting the ball from outside off and working those wrists, the fans showed their appreciation. When he walked down the track and put Farveez Maharoof away for four, they went wild. And when Tendulkar steered a lovely four, opening his hands and placing it past the infield, well that was just what you’d expect from fans of this man. Lalit Modi, the IPL commissioner, had spoken before the first season of how he had envisioned city-based loyalties. That’s not going to happen anywhere in India when Tendulkar is batting.Catching on
Yogesh Nagar, the substitute fielder for Gambhir, pulled off the catch of the tournament while fielding at mid-off. Jayasuriya drove Maharoof on the rise and it appeared destined for the boundary, but Nagar stuck his right hand, while airborne and leaping backwards, and pulled off a ripper. Nagar was in the thick of action later, running in and taking a neat low catch to cut off Tendulkar for a splendid 32-ball 63.Maharoof suffers again
Maharoof was lucky to get the wicket of Jayasuriya, and his habit of leaking runs continued. He entered this game as Delhi’s most expensive bowler in the tournament and his troubles preceded him. His first over saw Tendulkar and Jayasuriya pick up a boundary each. His second over began with Tendulkar collecting two fours, and Jayasuriya’s exit had no bearing on him either, as he hit the next two balls as if he was facing a spinner, using his feet and wrists and displaying impeccable placement. Maharoof came on to bowl his third over, the tenth of the innings, and promptly sprayed the ball down the leg side for five wides, bringing up the fastest 100 of the IPL. For good measure, Tendulkar finished off by taking him for another four that gave him figures o 3-0-40-1. Maharoof’s bemused expression, drooping shoulders and lethargic walk back to his fielding position said exactly what state of mind he was in.Carry on Tiwary
Saurabh Tiwary has not been able to match the achievements of some of his fellow 2008 Under-19 World Cup-winning team-mates, namely Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey and Ravindra Jadeja, but in two IPL matches this season he’s been blazing like wildfire. Tiwary hails from the same state as MS Dhoni, Jharkhand, keeps wicket, and once admitted that Dhoni was his batting hero. This evening, as he did against Rajasthan Royals, Tiwary played some shots straight out of the Dhoni manual. The long, dyed, straightened hair might be so 2007, a la Dhoni, but the shots that flowed from Tiwary’s bat were very much in keeping with the current format.Wake-up call
Kieron Pollard, the most expensive buy in this year’s IPL auction, barely had enough time to get over his jetlag – he and Dwayne Bravo arrived in Delhi late last night – before he was out in the middle needing to really swing his bat in the last two overs of Mumbai’s innings. If he was a bit groggy, the second ball he faced sure as hell woke him up. It slipped out of Dirk Nannes’ hand and ended up a nasty beamer that very narrowly missed knocking off Pollard’s head. Such was the gravity of that illegal delivery that Virender Sehwag, fielding at square leg, gasped and cupped his mouth with his hands. Pollard’s reply? Biff the next ball down the ground, where Mishra spilled a tough chance.Sweet, but far too shortTillakaratne Dilshan had faced three deliveries in IPL 2010 and was out twice without scoring a run. Hardly a fluent start to the season, but when he came out to open in place of an injured Gambhir, Dilshan realized it was time to flex his muscles. Seeing a length ball first up, he smashed Zaheer Khan over mid-off for four. More frenetic hitting followed as Dilshan slashed and inside-edged four before steering a boundary behind point. Seventeen runs in 11 balls was exciting stuff, but unfortunately it was too exciting to last long, because he swiped at the next ball and was bowled.Playing for keeps
It was called a wide, but little did that matter. Harbhajan Singh’s delivery spun down the leg side, Dinesh Karthik fell over trying to play it, and before you could say Jack Robinson, the wicketkeeper Aditya Tare broke the sticks with an excellent reactionary flick. It was brilliant work down the leg side. Tare’s reaction to the dismissal was equally mind-blowing because he charged toward the bowler, laughing and leaping like he’d just hit the winning penalty kick in a World Cup final.

Taylor shared half-century partnerships with Matt Boyce and Joshua Cobb to turn the innings around before being bowled by Lee Daggett for 88. Tom New and Wayne White also posted half-centuries and by the closeLeicestershire had moved into a commanding position on a pitch offering somehelp to the seam bowlers.There were certainly signs of moisture in it when Leicestershire’s new captain,former England and Yorkshire star Matthew Hoggard, lost the toss and hisopposite number Nicky Boje decided to bowl first. Even more encouraging for the home side was that they had taken three batting points in the opening game compared to last season when it took them four matches to pick up the same number of batting points.
