Steven Gerrard can’t have much to complain about after Glasgow Rangers thrashed Hamilton Academical in a thrilling 8-0 win at Ibrox to stay nine points clear of Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

The Light Blues are currently unbeaten in 20 games, stretching all the way back to the 1-0 victory over Aberdeen at the start of the season, and Rangers will look to resume their remarkable run when they face the Dons after the international break.

Scott Arfield combined with Ryan Kent to open the floodgates, as goals from Kemar Roofe and Joe Aribo put the Gers three goals up inside 19 minutes to put the game beyond Hamilton, before Aribo and Roofe doubled their efforts, and Brandon Barker and a brace from club captain James Tavernier capped off Gerrard’s biggest win since he first took charge of the club.

Whilst Aribo, Arfield and Roofe ran riot over the Accies, there was one player who’s poor performance went relatively unnoticed – Ryan Kent.

Before we get started, let’s just make one thing clear – Kent is still one of the club’s best players by a country mile. But that doesn’t mean that he can be totally exempt from criticism, if anything, far from it, as he still has some areas he urgently needs to address, namely working on his aerial duels, which are a glaring weakness.

Per SofaScore, the 23-year-old received a respectable rating of 7.3, but this was the lowest score out of the entire front three – he lost possession more times than Jermain Defoe and Roofe (15), whilst he only won five out of ten duels overall, hit the woodwork once and missed one big chance.

It’s fair to say that this was a rather disappointing display from a player of his standards, as he once again failed to find the back of the net, although he at least assisted Arfield’s opener. In fact, he has failed to score since the 4-0 win over Willem II in the third round of the Europa League qualifying stage this season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Leeds and Aberdeen striker Noel Whelan insisted that the erratic Rangers ace “needs to improve” his finishing and goal contributions in general.

Kent has only scored four goals and supplied two assists in 19 games in all competitions so far this season, whilst he is averaging 2.9 shots per game, via WhoScored. He just needs to be more clinical in front of the goal, that’s for sure. Maybe the international break will give him a chance to rest his weary legs.

وقال مكتب المدعي العام في بيان رسمي منذ قليل: “يتهم مكتب المدعي العام كلاً من جوزيف بلاتر بالاحتيال، بدلًا من الاختلاس لسوء الإدارة الإجرامية وكذلك بتزوير وثيقة”.

وتابع: “ميشيل بلاتيني متهم هو الآخر بالاحتيال، بدلًا من المشاركة في الاختلاس، لأنه مشارك مع بلاتر في سوء الإدارة الإجرامية وكذلك تزوير وثيقة رسمية”.

الجدير بالذكر أن بلاتر وبلاتيني يواجهان العديد من القضايا والاتهامات خلال فترة عملهما في منصب رئيس الاتحاد الدولي ورئيس الأوروبي لكرة القدم قبل إقالتهما بسبب الفساد المالي والإداري في آخر 6 سنوات.

Bruno Fernandes spared Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s blushes as Manchester United struggled to break down West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford in their first Premier League fixture after the international break on Saturday night.

VAR has been heavily scrutinised ever since its introduction in the World Cup 2018 and last night was no exception as referee David Coote overturned his decision to award West Brom with a penalty, much to the chagrin of Baggies boss Slaven Bilic, only for the video assistant referee to then order Fernandes to retake his penalty after Sam Johnstone was clearly off his line to save his first attempt.

The former United goalkeeper was outstanding upon his return to his old club, making a string of fine saves to deny Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, but even he was powerless to prevent the Portugal international from firing home on the second occasion, whilst the result ensured that the Red Devils won at Old Trafford in the Premier League for the first time this season.

By all accounts Solskjaer’s side were mostly lacklustre, a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by the club legend, who defended the manner of their performance in his post-match interview.

“After the international break, we said it in the dressing room after, it’s difficult,” he told BT Sport (via Sky Sports). “We’ve not worked together, we’ve waited until this morning to get the prep for this game done, and that’s never easy when everyone’s been away for 10 days.”

For the most part Fernandes was impressive, Fred comfortable with the ball, but David de Gea was the real standout. It’s not very often we say that, as any regular reader of this column will know, but there’s no denying his near-faultless performance between the sticks.

SofaScore gave De Gea a high grade of 7.3 out of ten for his efforts – he made two saves from inside the box, one clearance and completed one successful run out, whilst he took 22 touches of the ball, made 16 out of 19 passes (84%), and kept his second clean sheet of the campaign, having played the full 90 minutes.

The 30-year-old received a similar score from Sky Sports for his performance, whilst 90min went one better, claiming he ‘made a smart save to tip a low strike round the post in the first half’ before he pulled off a ‘fantastic second-half stop with his feet from Townsend to keep the scores level.’

Once lauded as a “fantastic” talent by former United midfielder Darren Fletcher after he made a number of crucial saves to deny Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, it’s fair to say that De Gea has suffered from an inconsistent run of form in recent years, as he has often been criticised for disappointing results.

But the Spain international, who’s market value is estimated at up to €50m (£44m) via CIES, seems to have started to turn things around at Old Trafford. 

Solskjaer will need his first-choice shot-stopper to be at his very best when the Red Devils travel to St Mary’s to take on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s high-flying Southampton next week, that’s for sure.

A tarde desta segunda-feira foi de reapresentação no Internacional. Sem as presenças de D’Alessandro, liberado para participar de um amistoso, e o atacante Rafael Moura, que negocia com o Atlético-MG, o elenco colorado marcou presença no Beira-Rio para o início da temporada. E o principal objetivo do ano já foi destacado pelo presidente Vitorio Piffero: encerrar o jejum que vem desde 1980 e conquistar o Campeonato Brasileiro.

– Somos muito cobrados pelo Brasileiro. Batemos na trave várias vezes. Estamos devendo o Nacional para a torcida e a nós mesmos – destacou o presidente colorado.

D’Alessandro havia solicitado com antecedência para participar de um amistoso da fundação de Pablo, irmão de Enzo Francescoli, ídolo do River Plate e da seleção uruguaia. O capitão colorado se reapresentará na próxima quarta, um dia após a partida. Já Rafael Moura não participou da apresentação, pois se encontrava no CT Parque do Gigante, realizando tratamento. A expectativa é que ele seja emprestado ao Atlético-MG até o fim de seu contrato com o Inter, em julho.

Uma das novidades foi a presença do zagueiro Jackson. O Palmeiras tinha interesse na sua permanência, mas não houve acerto entre as partes. Os volantes Fabinho e Fernando Bob, que defendiam Figueirense e Ponte Preta, respectivamente, e o lateral-direito Paulo Cezar Magalhães, ex-Universidad de Chile, tiveram o primeiro contato com os demais companheiros. Eles são, até o momento, as contratações feitas para a temporada.

Após a reapresentação com direito ao discurso de Piffero, os jogadores foram ao CT Parque do Gigante e, na sequência, foram submetidos aos primeiros exames médicos. كشف مصدر داخل منتخب مصر الأول، موقف أيمن أشرف مدافع الأهلي من الانضمام إلى قائمة الفراعنة، خلال المعسكر القادم المقرر انطلاقه غدًا الأحد.

ومن المقرر أن يعلن الجهاز الفني لمنتخب مصر، بقيادة البرتغالي كارلوس كيروش، القائمة التي تخوض مباراتي أنجولا والجابون، في ختام تصفيات إفريقيا المؤهلة لكأس العالم 2022، مساء اليوم السبت.

وتعرض أيمن أشرف للإصابة خلال مباراة الأهلي والزمالك، التي أقيمت مساء الجمعة، وكشف سامي قمصان عن حجم إصابة اللاعب قائلًا إنه يعاني من شد في العضلة الأمامية.

وقال المصدر لـ”بطولات”: “إصابة أيمن أشرف لا تمنعه من الالتحاق بمعسكر منتخب مصر لمباراتي أنجولا والجابون””.

يُذكر أن منتخب مصر يلاقي أنجولا يوم الجمعة المقبل، في إطار الجولة الخامسة من عمر التصفيات الإفريقية المؤهلة لكأس العالم قطر 2022.

Former Sunderland striker Phil Parkinson believes there is huge pressure on manager Phil Parkinson going into Friday’s game against Fleetwood Town.

The English tactician is under severe pressure, eighth in the League One table with six wins and two defeats from their first 12 outings.

A trip down to Lancashire is on the cards for the Black Cats this evening, facing off with Joey Barton’s side who are unbeaten in their last three matches (Fotmob).

Sunderland have only won once in November and with the club’s takeover looming over his head, the pressure continues to grow on Parkinson. Their 1-1 draw against Doncaster Rovers last weekend leaves the North East outfit without a win in four games (Fotmob).

Speaking to Football Insider, Phillips believes that the manager will understand the situation that he’s in and must start getting results to impress the new owners.

“It certainly will not help his situation if they lose against Fleetwood, let’s put it that way,” he said.

“I am not going to say that he should be sacked but we all know the business, Phil included. It is a big game for Sunderland on Friday because of where both sides are in the league. It could have been so different at the weekend. If they held on for the three points it would have been a great result away from home.

“Joey Barton has got Fleetwood flying. There is always a niggle between Barton and Sunderland because of his days at Newcastle – he will be desperate to win the match. Phil is not daft. He knows that the pressure is mounting with the takeover looming.”

Phillips continued: “When new owners come in they often like to bring their own man in. Ultimately, it is about results on the pitch and if they were to lose tomorrow Sunderland could be some way off the top spot. It is a huge game for everyone concerned.”

Transfer Tavern Verdict

This match could make or break Sunderland’s season, with their aspirations of returning to the Championship remaining high on the agenda.

Sunderland are already eight points off the pace and could be out of reach by Christmas if their form continues to slump.

As Phillips says, “if” the Black Cats lose tonight then that could be just about it for ‘Parky’ at the Stadium of Light.

Pelo segundo dia seguido, Marcelo Oliveira comandou um exercício em campo reduzido em que dois times de oito atletas de linha se enfrentavam. Ao contrário do que aconteceu na segunda-feira, quando eram três traves, desta vez foram apenas duas.

O trabalho começou com os seguintes times:Vagner, Lucas, Nathan, Edu Dracena, Zé Roberto, Thiago Santos, Dudu, Mouche e Erik usando coletes;Fernando Prass, João Pedro, Vitor Hugo, Egídio, Rodrigo, Matheus Sales, Robinho, Allione e Gabriel Jesus sem coletes.

Enquanto isso, os demais jogadores foram divididos em três equipes para trabalhar na outra metade do campo. Dois desses times se enfrentavam e o outro ficava espalhado em volta da movimentação, com seus jogadores servindo como coringas. Depois, os grupos trocaram de lado.

A partir daí,Anderson, Lucas, Taylor, Leandro Almeida, Nathan, Victor Luis, Arouca, Alecsandro e Cristaldo passaram a ser os atletas de colete. Sem coletes, estavamVinicius Silvestre, Thiago Martins, Roger Carvalho, João Pedro, Rodrigo, Cleiton Xavier, Moisés, Régis e Barrios.

Por fim, em uma atividade que envolveu todos os atletas, divididos em duas equipes, a comissão técnica dispôs quatro gols ao redor do campo.

O primeiro compromisso do Verdão em 2016 é na quarta que vem, contra o Libertad (PAR), às 19h30, no quadrangular amistoso que o clube disputará no Uruguai.

قررت إدارة النادي الأهلي مضاعفة المساحة المُخصصة لاستقبال أعضاء الجمعية العمومية، للقيام بعملية التصويت في الانتخابات التي تجرى يوم 26 نوفمبر الحالي، لاختيار مجلس إدارة جديد يقود الأهلي في السنوات الأربعة المقبلة. 

وضاعفت إدارة الأهلي المساحة للتسهيل على الأعضاء والحفاظ على سلامة الجميع، مع مراعاة التباعد واتباع كافة الإجراءات الاحترازية، لضمان مرور العملية الانتخابية بسهولة وفي دقائق معدودة.

كما خصصت إدارة النادي عدة أبواب لدخول الأعضاء إلى خيمة التصويت، وأبواب أخرى للخروج منها؛ بحيث يدخل عضو النادي الخيمة ويسجل اسمه في الكشوف ثم يتسلم بطاقة التصويت للإدلاء بصوته في دقائق معدودة.

وكان مجلس إدارة الأهلي قد اعتمد في اجتماعه الذي عقد يوم 26 أكتوبر الماضي قائمة المرشحين، في كل المناصب: الرئاسة، ونائب الرئيس، ‏وأمانة ‏الصندوق، ‏والعضوية فوق السن، والعضوية تحت السن.

ووافق المجلس على أن يكون الإشراف قضائيا على كافة أعمال الجمعية العمومية التي ‏تشهد ‏انتخاب ‏مجلس إدارة جديد.
