أكد بيبي رينا حارس مرمى لاتسيو الإيطالي، أن ارتكاب الأخطاء ضد بايرن ميونخ كان سببًا في الهزيمة الثقيلة التي تعرض لها فريقه.

وفاز بايرن ميونخ على لاتسيو بنتيجة (4-1) في ذهاب دور الـ 16 لدوري أبطال أوروبا على ملعب “الأولمبيكو” (طالع تقرير المباراة).

وقال رينا لشبكة “سكاي سبورت إيطاليا”: “لقد ضغطوا بشكل جيد للغاية، لقد ارتكبنا بعض الأخطاء في تمريراتنا وتمركزنا للخروج من الضغط، لذلك عندما ترتكب أخطاء كهذه في هذا المستوى، ستتم معاقبتك”.

وأضاف: “يجب أن نضع هذا وراءنا، ما قدمناه في الأسابيع الأخيرة يعني أنه من واجبنا أن نعود إلى المسار الصحيح.

وواصل رينا: “لم نكن في دور الستة عشر لسنوات عديدة، كان هناك لاعبون خاضوا القليل من مباريات دوري أبطال أوروبا، عندما ترتكب أخطاء ضد أفضل فريق في العالم، فإنك ستعاني”.

وأكمل: “نأخذ المستحقات بشكل متقطع وهذه الأموال لا تسمن ولا تغني من جوع”.

Leeds suffered their first defeat of the Championship campaign at the weekend, failing to score as they were undone 1-0.

Wayne Routledge was the hero for the visitors as he popped up with a late goal that meant the Whites weren’t able to claim any points on Saturday afternoon.

The defeat meant that Leeds have now suffered back to back losses in all competitions heading into the international break.

However, there was a plus point from the hosts’ point of view. That happened to be Stuart Dallas. who supporters were quick to rave about.

One individual labelled the 6-foot defender as immense, whilst he was also labelled a revelation in the right-back position.

A number of superlatives were thrown in the Northern Irishman’s direction including outstanding and superb.

Throughout the encounter, Dallas had two shots, completed a dribble and also won three tackles, per WhoScored, in what was a solid outing at both ends of the pitch.

The versatile performer has stepped in admirably for Stuart Ayling this season and has appeared at wing-back and full-back in 2019/20.

وقال حسام البدري في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “الشمس”: “شاهدت مباراة الزمالك أمام الترجي، والنقص العددي تسبب في النتيجة لأنه ضغط اللاعبين”.

وتابع: “في نفس الوقت بعض المواقف الدفاعية أدت لتسجيل الأهداف، رغم أن الزمالك أوجد فرصًا جيدة وكانت لديه فرص في التسجيل”.

وأكمل: “التعامل الدفاعي بدون كرة من مدافعي الزمالك كان غير جيد، والتمركز بدون كرة لم يكن جيدًا”.

وبشأن مباراة الأهلي أمام فيتا كلوب؟، أجاب: “كان يوجد إجهاد يعاني منه اللاعبين، وهناك بعض اللاعبين يحتاجون لوقت”.

وأوضح: “هناك فرق بين الأندية الكبيرة والأقل، وبعض اللاعبين يتأثرون بالضغط، حتى اللاعب الأجنبي أيضاً”.

واختتم: “لأن اللاعب الأجنبي الذي يلعب في فرق صغيرة ثم ينضم لأندية كبيرة يشعر بالضغط، وانا ألتمس العذر لـ والتر بواليا، يجب الصبر عليه وتوفير جو هادئ، لأنه انتقل لنادي كبير مُطالب بالبطولات”.

Loads of Everton supporters have been reacting on social media, after former Blues star Tim Cahill shared a photo on Twitter showing the Australian with fellow former Toffees ace Mikel Arteta.

The pair played together at Goodison Park for six-and-a-half years, in a period of the Merseyside outfit’s history that saw Everton finish the 2004/05 season fourth in the Premier League and later achieve back-to-back fifth-place finishes, as well as reaching the Round of 16 of the UEFA Cup and the EFL Cup semi-finals.

Between joining Everton from Millwall in the summer of 2004 and departing for New York Red Bulls in 2012, Cahill made 276 outings for the Toffees across all competitions, in which he scored 68 goals and penned 29 assists (TransferMarkt) – only Romelu Lukaku (68) and Duncan Ferguson (60) have scored more Premier League goals for Everton than Cahill (56).

Arteta, meanwhile, struck the back of the net 35 times and was credited with 33 assists during his 209 appearances across all competitions, between arriving at Goodison Park from Real Sociedad on an initial loan deal in January 2005 and leaving for Arsenal in 2011.

Everton have only reached the EFL Cup semi-finals once since Arteta and Cahill left for pastures new, but reached the FA Cup semi-final in Cahill’s final year and again in 2016, while reaching the Europa League Round of 16 in 2014/15.

Loads of Toffees supporters have been reacting on social media now, though, after Cahill shared a photo on Twitter showing himself with Arteta, alongside a flashback shot of the two together during their Everton playing days.

Tottenham Hotspur rather strangely described Eric Dier as a ‘versatile defender’ in an injury update on their official website on Thursday, and given their issues at right-back at the moment it may hint he could be in line for a rare start there.

What’s the word, then?

Well, Spurs were providing the latest on their squad prior to the visit of Crystal Palace to north London on Saturday, and said that Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon, Kyle Walker-Peters and Eric Dier are all back in training, but that Davinson Sanchez could be a doubt following irritation on his ankle.

The Colombian started at right-back ahead of the available Serge Aurier in Walker-Peters’ absence against Arsenal prior to the international break, and if he is ruled out it may leave manager Mauricio Pochettino with a bit of a conundrum if Walker-Peters also isn’t fit enough to start.

While the latter was described as a right-back on the official website, the labelling of Dier was a little more confusing.

Dier set for right-back role?

Of those matches in which Dier’s position played has been recorded by Transfermarkt, the large majority of them show that he has either featured in a defensive midfield role or as a centre-back, so the wording of him being a ‘versatile defender’ rather than a ‘versatile defensive player’ is certainly notable and timely given their right-back issues.

According to Transfermarkt, he has played there on 25 occasions so he does have previous, and given the shortage of options there it wouldn’t be a total surprise if he was being considered, especially following on from potentially controversial comments from Aurier this week having already been left out against the Gunners.

Given you would think Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld would be guaranteed to play at centre-back if Sanchez is absent, that leaves right-back as the role the ‘versatile’ Dier could fit.

It may all be pure coincidence, but we for one certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see the England international selected there against the Eagles.

Although it is not exactly where he wants to be, Unai Emery will be hoping his Arsenal side have a good run in the Europa League this term.

The Gunners will kick off their European campaign against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Commerzbank Arena in what should be an interesting match-up, what with the German giants having reached the semi-finals of last year’s tournament, and the north Londoners finishing as runners-up.

The former Sevilla boss is likely to rotate his squad, regardless, so here we look at how the Gunners could line up against the Bundesliga outfit.

Emery has a history of swapping his goalkeepers between the league and the cup competitions.

Last season, Petr Cech started in 16 of the 20 cup matches the Gunners played in, whilst Bernd Leno was selected more often than not in the English top flight. With the 124-time Czech Republic international having retired at the end of the past campaign, Emiliano Martinez is now Arsenal’s number two. Thus, the chances are high that he will be chosen between the sticks.

Although Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney are back in full training, it is still surely too early to start them. As such, Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles should keep their places at full-back.

Rob Holding is also close to full fitness but, once again, it would be a big risk to select him. Sokratis and David Luiz have both struggled this term, averaging 6.55 and 6.37 respectively in their WhoScored ratings, and the former, having played a game more, could be dropped to the bench. Calum Chambers is the only other centre-back who is fully fit, and could, therefore, enter the fray.

Joe Willock and Lucas Torreira should be named in midfield, having sat out the draw with Watford, with Dani Ceballos the only one of the previous midfield trio to keep his place.

In a 4-3-3 formation, Nicolas Pepe and Reiss Nelson should start on the flanks. The latter has not played from the beginning since August 17th, making him one of the fresher bodies in the squad, and a lack of realistic alternatives – only Maitland-Niles can really play there apart from Pepe and he is starting at right-back – should give the former another chance to prove himself.

Alexandre Lacazette’s injury, which will keep him out of the side until October, leaves Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the only striker currently at his manager’s disposal. Whether Emery would like to rest him or not, he has little choice but to give him the nod on Thursday.
