Ainda no primeiro tempo, o Vasco apertou a marcação e conseguiu abrir o placar.
Over the last couple of seasons, Everton have been forced to operate on a strict budget given their PSR and FFP troubles, with most signings either on free transfers or low transfer fees.
The FFP issues have seen boss Sean Dyche be restricted in his efforts to bolster his side and drag the Toffees clear of any looming relegation threat after the points deduction earlier this campaign.
Everton manager Sean Dyche.
The Toffees have been forced to cut costs in order to balance the books, with the likes of Alex Iwobi and Demarai Gray just two examples of players the club have had to sell to stay within the Premier League's strict rules.
Everton also allowed one other first-team member to depart the club back in 2021 and by offloading him and his extortionate weekly wage, it has helped the club massively in their battle with other finances.
Bernard's stats during his time at Everton
After arriving at Everton on a free transfer from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018, Brazilian winger Bernard certainly took time to adapt to the demands of the intensity of the Premier League, scoring just once in his first season at Goodison Park.
The winger failed to produce any credible goal return during his time with the Toffees, only finding the net on eight occasions across his 84 appearances during his time at the club.
Undoubtedly, his best Premier League campaign came in the 2019/20 season, with Bernard registering three goals and two assists in his 27 league outings.
However, the attacker would fail to replicate his form from the previous season, with the Brazilian only making 12 appearances in the Premier League after falling down the pecking order under boss Carlo Ancelotti.
He would subsequently depart the Toffees during the summer of 2021, joining Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates on a two-year deal, ending his three-year stint on Merseyside.
Bernard's wage at Everton
Upon his arrival at Goodison Park back in 2018 under the tenure of Marco Silva, the winger agreed a three-year deal on a reported £120k-per-week, as per Capology.
His huge weekly wage saw the Brazilian become the club's joint-highest earner, alongside Colombian centre-back Yerry Mina and slightly ahead of Portuguese playmaker Andre Gomes.

Despite the former Everton man having 18 goal contributions in 28 appearances for Panathinaikos this season, the club did the right thing in offloading the 31-year-old.
His weekly wage saw him earn £6.2m a season during his time at Everton, taking his earnings to just under £19m over the course of his three years on Merseyside.
Given the club's recent struggles with their finances, it was imperative the club cleared his salary off the wage bill to allow the club to invest in younger talents and save funds where necessary.
Despite arriving with high hopes, it was a move that failed to flourish as both sides would've anticipated. However, it is brilliant to see a former Toffee excelling and regaining the impressive form that he showcased during the 2019/20 season.

Ibrahim Zadran led the chase, scoring an unbeaten 73 to end the hosts’ campaign on a disappointing note

ScorecardSouth Africa’s home Under-19 World Cup ended in defeat, as they went down to Afghanistan by five wickets in the seventh-place playoff in Benoni. South Africa could only put up 154 after opting to bat, as legspinner Shafiqullah Ghafari and left-arm quick Fazal Haque picked up seven wickets between them. Afghanistan’s reply, not always smooth, was led by Test opener Ibrahim Zadran, and they got to their target with just under ten overs to spare.Interestingly, when the two teams had met in the tournament opener too, Ghafari had been the star in Afghanistan’s seven-wicket win, returning 6 for 15 in 9.1 overs. Afghanistan thus made it 2-0 against the home side in the competition, and Ghafari had combined figures of 17.4-5-30-10 in two games against South Africa.Medium-pacers Haque and Abdul Rahman sent back openers Levert Manje and Andrew Louw by the end of the sixth over with just 17 runs on the board, and Rahman had a second wicket in the form of captain Bryce Parsons soon after, to leave South Africa in a hole. It got worse for them when Jonathan Bird had to retire hurt after being struck in the elbow by a delivery from Rahman in the tenth over. Bird had looked good, hitting five fours in his 22, off 26 balls at that stage.Luke Beaufort and Tyrese Karelse did fight back for a while, but when they were both sent back by Ghafari, South Africa still had only 80 on the board. The wickets kept falling till No.9 Merrick Brett and No.10 Mondli Khumalo scored some quick runs in a 51-run stand, but both of them were dismissed by Haque in the same over, the 37th of the innings, forcing Bird to come out for a bit of a late flourish. He didn’t disappoint, hitting Rahman for a six and a four, but then became the last man out when Ghafari had his number. It wasn’t a huge target, but batting hasn’t been Afghanistan’s strongest suit, and they needed Zadran to show them the way. He did, hitting a responsible 73 in 113 balls, with seven fours, to take them to the finish line.He got support up front, with opening partner Sediqullah Atal providing the early impetus in the chase. The two put together 51 for the first wicket in 10.3 overs, and Atal scored 40 of those, in just 38 balls, with four fours and three sixes. There was a bit of a stutter for Afghanistan after that as 51 for no loss became 58 for 3, Odirile Modimokoane picking up two wickets, but Rahman was back at it with the bat this time, and played a good hand of 27 runs in a 86-run stand for the fourth wicket with Zadran. There was a little bit to do after that, but Zadran made sure there was no late drama.
It's looking increasingly unlikely that David Moyes is going to renew his deal with West Ham United, with his current terms expiring at the end of the campaign.
The 60-year-old has worked wonders in east London and West Ham will forever be thankful for his instrumental role in the most prosperous period in a generation, enjoying three successive seasons in European competition and clinching the Europa Conference League last season.
David Moyes
But every dog has his day and an eager fanbase has been noticeably discontented with a perceived negative style of play of late. As such, sporting director Tim Steidten has been scouring for possible replacements, with the Hammes launching an ambitious move for Ruben Amorim.
The 39-year-old's Sporting Lisbon side are purring toward a second Liga Portugal title in four years and play slick, sequential attacking football that would certainly present Hammers fans with a fresh system to observe.
There are bound to be more twists and turns before a decision is made but should West Ham decide to anoint the Portuguese as Moyes' heir, here is how the starting lineup could look come August.
1 GK – Alphonse Areola
West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Alphonse Areola won't be going anywhere, whatever happens. The French goalkeeper has statistically been the best shot-stopper in the Premier League this season and, with funds required elsewhere, there would be no reason for Amorim to seek a replacement.

That said, he's not the finest ball-playing goalkeeper around, so he might not be the desirable pick in the long term.
2 CB – Konstantinos Mavropanos
Konstantinos Mavropanos in action for West Ham.
Change is necessary this summer but too much could send the Irons into a spin, and so Konstantinos Mavropanos must be provided with a second season to prove his worth at the London Stadium, having joined from Stuttgart in a £19m transfer last summer.
The Greece international has started eight of the past nine Premier League matches and could thrive in a three-man defence that ensures he's less isolated at the back.
3 CB – Kurt Zouma
Kurt Zouma for West Ham
Kurt Zouma has not been brilliant this season – notably handed a 2/10 rating by C&H for his display vs Palace – but he's still United's best central defender and he will be important under new management, the skipper having featured 35 times this term, scoring three goals.
The same can't be said for Nayef Aguerd, who has fallen by the wayside and is attracting attention from the lucrative clubs over in the Saudi Pro League. The Moroccan's sale will be necessary.
4 CB – Goncalo Inacio
Goncalo Inacio in action for Sporting Lisbon
Now this would be a coup and a half. Goncalo Inacio has been a coveted centre-back over the past year or so and has attracted a vested interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, with his elite ball-playing and technical skills in Amorim's Leões system leading to high praise indeed.
As per FBref, the Portugal international ranks among the top 12% of centre-backs across divisions similar to the Liga Portugal for pass completion, the top 1% for passes attempted and progressive passes, the top 13% for progressive carries and the top 6% for shot-creating actions per 90.
Given that he might only cost £40m, West Ham simply have to ensure Inacio arrives in tow if Amorim does indeed put pen to paper.
5 RWB – Yukinara Sugawara
Yukinara Sugawara
Vladimir Coufal has been an astute signing for West Ham but there have been signs of struggle recently, said to have been 'run ragged' against Newcastle by the Evening Standard's Malik Ouzia, and Amorim will seek a more robust and athletic right-back to overlap and find success in the final third.
Enter Yukinara Sugawara, who was on West Ham's radar back in January, as per Football Transfers, confident down the flank and willing to make surging runs into the danger area. With 42 goal contributions from 194 appearances for AZ Alkmaar, he might be the offensive upgrade needed.
6 LWB – Emerson Palmieri
Emerson West Ham
Emerson Palmieri has been reliable and robust since joining West Ham from Chelsea in 2022, with his 93 tackles in the league this year the fifth-most of any player competing.
A typical wing-back, he'd surely star in Amorim's system that accommodates that exact role.
7 CM – Edson Alvarez
Edson Alvarez for West Ham
What an industrious signing Edson Alvarez has been, effectively joining as the Declan Rice successor last summer. Amorim needs a general to supercharge his high-octane squad and the Mexican will only be too happy to oblige.
As per Sofascore, Alvarez has averaged 2.7 tackles, 5.1 successful duels and 5.6 ball recoveries per game in the Premier League – he's more than up for the task.
8 CM – Pedro Goncalves
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Pedro Goncalves
No Kalvin Phillips? Tick. James Ward-Prowse will still play a part, as will Tomas Soucek, but West Ham could sign Pedro Goncalves to take their squad to a new level, with the dynamic midfielder banging in 18 goals and whipping up 16 assists in all competitions this season. Deadly.
The 25-year-old has been on Aston Villa and West Ham's radar in recent months, according to reports in Portugal, though it would take a staggering £68m bid to prise him away.
Former Gunners forward Kevin Campbell dubbed his goal to send Arsenal crashing out of the Europa League last year "an incredible strike" – a glimpse of things to come, Irons?
9 RW – Jarrod Bowen
Jarrod Bowen for West Ham
Having signed a new deal at the start of the season, Jarrod Bowen will continue his illustrious journey as West Ham talisman, and he might just better his 19-goal return this year under Amorim's wing, playing in a more progressive system.
He could well be the potential manager's new Victor Gyokeres, scorer of a staggering 38 goals this term.
10 LW – Mohammed Kudus
Mohammed Kudus for West Ham.
Mohammed Kudus is a showman. Watch and enjoy his flair – are you entertained? The Ghanaian winger has injected electricity and impetus into the frontline this term and has been described as a "generational talent" by reporter Gary Al-Smith.
Lucas Paqueta will relinquish his starting berth on the left wing of Amorim's West Ham team, principally because he'll be plying his trade northward with Manchester City.
The Brazilian's sale will be poignant but a war chest will be needed this summer and the Citizens could fork out £85m to bring him to the Etihad Stadium.

Keshav Maharaj, Dane Paterson bludgeon quick runs before England wrap up win
The Report by Andrew Miller20-Jan-2020

England’s cricketers encountered some improbable turbulence in their otherwise serene march to victory at Port Elizabeth, as a record-breaking spell of tonking from South Africa’s tenth-wicket pair, Keshav Maharaj and Dane Paterson reduced their margin of victory from overwhelming to merely emphatic – by an innings and 53 runs, to claim a 2-1 series lead with just next week’s fourth Test at Johannesburg to come.Having resumed on a ropey 102 for 6, with their only realistic prospect of salvation coming in the prospect of more bad weather, South Africa seemed resigned to their third-heaviest home defeat since readmission when they shipped three more wickets in the first hour of the morning to slip to 138 for 9.But then, out of the wreckage, rose an unlikely and entertaining star. Maharaj, with the debutant Paterson providing steadfast support, took it upon himself to climb into the second new ball, smashing 71 from 106 runs all told, including a rip-roaring stand of 99 in 73 balls. At times, it was like watching Nathan Astle’s extraordinary onslaught at Christchurch in 2002, as England discovered too late that the harder the ball, the further it travelled. In all the pair crashed 16 fours and three sixes, with Maharaj claiming a share in an unlikely world record when he scalped 24 of the 28 runs from Joe Root’s 29th and emphatically final over, to match the mark established by George Bailey off James Anderson in the 2013-14 Ashes and Brian Lara’s effort off Robin Peterson.Paterson, emboldened by a match situation that gave him licence to swing his levers with no consequences, clouted 39 not out from 40 balls, including three fours in the penultimate over of the contest as Sam Curran was slashed repeatedly through third man. But with the deficit draining away and the lunch looking set to be postponed, a direct hit from Curran at mid-on ended the fun to seal England’s first innings victory away from home since the fifth Test at Sydney on Andrew Strauss’s triumphant Ashes tour in 2010-11.The finale aside, this was another impressive performance from a young England team that has turned the series on its head after their heavy defeat at Centurion in the first Test. But the manner of the loss leaves South Africa in a deep state of introspection. Having lost four wickets for one run in 28 deliveries to trigger the follow-on on the fourth morning, their omens were not good when Vernon Philander – the most accomplished of their remaining batsmen – was prised out for his overnight 13 by Stuart Broad’s third delivery of the day.Broad, who had ripped through the tail with three cheap wickets in the first innings, was once again right on the money with a full-length inducker, which Philander could only inside-edge onto his front pad, and away to the leaping Ollie Pope at midwicket, who emulated Ben Stokes’ Cape Town achievement in picking off six outfield catches in the match, an England record, and one of only six players in history to score a century in the same game too.Meanwhile, at the Duckpond End, Root resumed his improbable quest for a first Test five-for – he had bowled 19 overs off the reel for his fourth-day figures of 4 for 31, and so nearly claimed that elusive fifth with his fifth ball of the morning when Kagiso Rabada pressed forward with hard hands outside off, only for Dominic Sibley at second slip to spill a fast but catchable edge.Emboldened, Rabada unfurled one of the shots of the match to dump Root back over his head for a checked-drive six – a sign of things to come – but Mark Wood, eager for action once again after his brisk return to the Test fold, ended his resistance with his first ball of the morning, a cross-seamer from round the wicket that stood up in the pitch for Broad at mid-on to cling onto a looping prod.Three overs later, another change brought more instant reward – as Dom Bess returned for another foray, and slid a quicker ball through Anrich Nortje’s previously doughty defences. But from 138 for 9, England’s tactics came a cropper in the face of South Africa’s demob-happy slogging. Initially, Root himself claimed the new ball – partly with his milestone in mind but also with a view to sparing his quick bowlers’ energies with the Wanderers Test looming in four days’ time.It was not a riproaring success. Maharaj, with his eye now fully in and a nice hard ball to come off the bat with extra oomph, lashed into his offerings with glee. Three consecutive fours gave way to two massive smacks into the stands at cow corner, and though Root beat Maharaj all ends up outside off with his sixth ball, he also beat his keeper, Jos Buttler for four byes … and a footnote in the record books.Back came England’s quicks, and still the shots kept coming, as England were suckered into banging the ball in too short, and neglecting to target the stumps. Another few overs of such frolics might have been interesting, but South Africa’s earlier shortcomings could not be undone in half a session of such royal entertainment. They’ve got it all to do now if they want to salvage a share of the series next week.

Glasgow Rangers could end the season with a treble, or if they stumble in the next few games, with just a single League Cup to their name.
Of course, being in a Premiership title race with just four matches remaining looked highly unlikely when Philippe Clement breezed through the Ibrox doors in October, which is surely testament to his managerial abilities.
Given how much effort the Light Blues have exerted to reel Celtic in, it looks as though their poor results over the previous few weeks could suggest they are just pipped to the post.
Regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season, Clement will be taking a long hard look at his squad and culling it as he sees fit.
This could see a large volume of transfer activity occurring when the transfer window finally opens in a few weeks, allowing him to bring his own targets to the club.
With this in mind, it appears as though the club could still be interested in a player who was linked with a move last summer…
Rangers transfer news
Under Michael Beale, signings came thick and fast last summer as he sought to beef up his first team squad ahead of the current season.
In total, nine new signings were made in a bid to build a side good enough to end Celtic’s recent dominance, but the early weeks of the season were far from impressive.
Beale had a few centre-backs in mind, yet only signed Balogun. One name that had been linked with a move to Rangers as far back as January 2023 was long-term target, Dion Sanderson.
This interest doesn’t appear to have gone away heading into the upcoming window. According to the Daily Record, Sanderson is still a player of interest to the Glasgow side as Clement aims to rebuild his team.
He was recently stripped of the captaincy and according to Football League World, City could be looking for a fee in the region of £2m – what they paid out to sign him – in order for any club to secure his services this summer.
Could he be an ideal replacement for Connor Goldson? Who is set to miss the rest of the season due to an injury sustained in training.
Connor Goldson’s statistics for Rangers this season
When speaking to the media ahead of the clash against Kilmarnock on Sunday afternoon, Clement delivered an injury update, saying that "he will be out for the rest of the season", while also describing it as a "big blow".

The defender currently has two years left on his contract, but his form in recent weeks was certainly subpar to the standards that the Ibrox faithful have come to expect from the Englishman.
Against Ross County, the Gers conceded three goals and the defence was at fault, while the former Brighton defender has been suspect to plenty of long balls over the top this term, especially against Aberdeen.
Until his injury, the 31-year-old had played 48 times for the Light Blues this season, adding the League Cup to his list of domestic honours.
Among his teammates, Goldson currently ranks third for accurate passes per game (60.1) along with ranking second for accurate long balls per game (5.6), yet with the title on the line, his performances in recent weeks saw him dropped from the starting XI for the Scottish Cup semifinal against Hearts.
If Clement receives an offer for Goldson – who has been linked with a reunion with Steven Gerrard – this summer that is too good to turn down, will he take it? Especially as it looks as though he is starting to deteriorate as a player.
Why Dion Sanderson could be a dream Goldson replacement
The 24-year-old started off his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers but made just one senior appearance for the Old Gold during his spell there.
He spent several seasons out on loan, which included two temporary spells at Birmingham, before sealing a permanent move there last summer in order to establish himself in the Championship.
Birmingham centre-back Dion Sanderson.
Last season, Sanderson played 31 games in the second tier, showcasing his defensive abilities for the club. Not only did he win four total duels per game – a success rate of 54% – but he also helped his side keep eight clean sheets while making 1.6 tackles per game.
This season, the defender has played 36 games while losing possession just 6.2 times on average, while helping the club keep nine clean sheets, once again demonstrating how important he is to them.
Hailed as a “Rolls Royce” by his former manager at Sunderland, Lee Johnson, the 6 foot 2 titan has plenty of experience down south and could be a solid option for Clement to call upon next term.
Goldson has made over 300 competitive appearances for the Light Blues since joining back in 2018, becoming one of Gerrard’s first-ever signings.
He has won everything there is on offer during his time in Scotland, along with helping the Gers reach the 2022 Europa League final, their first major European final in 14 years.
If Clement wishes to take his side to the next level, however, perhaps stripping it down and selling off some of the parts is the only way to go, especially with his form dropping this season.
It looks as though the Belgian may have to offload a few bodies this summer before he can think about making moves to make any new signings, but a deal for Sanderson should certainly be considered, especially if the transfer fee was right.

Strength in depth in this area will be paramount heading into the 2024/25 campaign and the Englishman – who has been lauded as "really strong and powerful" by writer James Hunter – could be an ideal addition to the first-team squad.
If Goldson does leave, then it will be with the best wishes of every single Rangers supporter, without a shadow of a doubt.

EXCLUSIVE: Archer: It’s not Root’s fault I’m injured
Jofra Archer says he is keeping his “fingers crossed” for an comeback with Rajasthan Royals this season, after making good progress with his rehab following a stress fracture of the elbow.Archer, who has agreed a two-year extension to his contract with Sussex, was omitted from England’s ongoing Test tour of Sri Lanka. However, he hasn’t given up hope of being fit for at least some of the IPL, which begins on March 29.”The elbow is fine,” he told Sussex’s website. “I haven’t felt it for the last few weeks now so I think it’s making good progress.”I’m not targeting anything. I’ve played a lot of cricket so I don’t think I’ll forget how to play cricket even if I don’t do anything for the next couple of months.”It’s actually nice to just take a break. I’m not happy that it’s come at this time but I’m also grateful that I’m getting the chance to relax and take a step back for a bit.””You never know, fingers crossed. I’ll probably have some more information when I get it re-scanned. It could be a bit longer, I might have to wait, it could be a bit shorter.”Though hugely in demand in all formats of the game, at international level and in T20 leagues, Archer says he retains a special bond with Sussex, the club where he first put down roots in England after arriving from his native Barbados in 2016 and where he will now be staying at least until the end of 2022.”Sussex gave me my opportunity right at the beginning of my career, so I am very happy to commit long term to the club,” Archer told Sussex’s website.”I really do enjoy playing with everyone here at Sussex and it was really nice to come back down last year to play a few games with the lads.”It’s the same club that I left it as and it’s nice to know nothing has changed. Sometimes people sit in my space in the dressing room now, but that’s fine!”It most definitely still feels special to pull on the Sussex shirt.”Jason Gillespie, Sussex’s head coach, added: “We’re delighted that Jofra will continue to be with us at Sussex.”I’m really looking forward to having him play for us when his England commitments allows.
