أكد بيب جوارديولا مدرب مانشستر سيتي، أنه سيكون سعيدًا إذا فاز لاعبه رودري بجائزة الكرة الذهبية لهذا العام لكنه يقدر وجود مجموعة من اللاعبين الرائعين في المنافسة على الجائزة.
وساهم رودري في فوز مانشستر سيتي بكأس السوبر الأوروبي وكأس العالم للأندية والدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز في موسم 2023/24، ويورو 2024 مع إسبانيا، وتم اختياره أفضل لاعب في البطولة.
ومن المقرر الإعلان عن المرشحين لجائزة أفضل لاعب في العالم في 4 سبتمبر، وقال جوارديولا في تصريحات نشرها موقع مانشستر سيتي الرسمي: “سنكون سعداء، إنه يستحق ذلك”.
وأضاف: “لكن ربما يستحقها لاعب آخر أيضًا، سيصوت الناس، لم يقدم رودري موسمًا واحدًا فقط، بل مواسم عديدة جيدة حقًا وكان الموسم السابق جيدًا حقًا مع فوز بالدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز وكأس أوروبا مع إسبانيا”.
وأردف: “لكن هناك لاعبين آخرين قدموا موسمًا جيدًا، أود أن يفوز لاعب واحد من مانشستر سيتي بالجائزة لأنها تعني الكثير للاعبين، سأحب ذلك”.
وأشار: “لكنني قلت عدة مرات، إن مجرد التواجد في المنافسة والتواجد هناك يعني أن النادي – فرديًا وجماعيًا – قدم موسمًا جيدًا”.

وسُئل جوارديولا عن عدم ضم مانشستر سيتي لبديل لجوليان ألفاريز الذي انتقل إلى أتلتيكو مدريد.
ورد المدرب: “لم نتوقع رحيل جوليان، حسنًا، لم نتوقع ذلك، فقد أجرى محادثات مع أندية أخرى منذ فترة طويلة، مع وكيله، أنا سعيد بالفريق، بالطبع، إذا تعرضنا للعديد من الإصابات، فقد تكون هذه مشكلة، لكن نأمل أن يعود أوسكار بوب في غضون شهرين أو ثلاثة أشهر”.
وتابع: “ويمكن أن يكون لدينا فيل فودين في هذا المركز، ويمكن أن يلعب جيمس ماكاتي وإيلكاي جوندوجان في هذا المركز.. هؤلاء أنواع مختلفة من اللاعبين عن إيرلينج هالاند بالطبع”.

Leeds could, in theory, bring in three more players on loan to add to the group and one star who could arrive in such a move is Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos.

The Whites have recently been touted with a possible swoop to sign the Brazilian prospect on loan until the end of the season from the top-flight outfit.
Speaking on CaughtOffside's YouTube channel earlier this month, journalist Ben Jacobs claimed that Leeds could be in the race to land his signature before the end of the window.
The reporter stated that Premier League side Crystal Palace are also interested in a deal to land the former Vasco da Gama star this month.
Jacobs also named Ipswich Town, who are currently second in the Championship and ahead of Daniel Farke's men, as a team to watch out for in regard to Santos' immediate future.
The central midfielder looks set to be available after Chelsea decided to recall him from his loan with Nottingham Forest during the first half of the campaign.

His failure to establish himself as a regular in the top-flight suggests that a loan down to the Championship would be a logical next step for him in his development.
Playing week-in-week-out in the second tier could help Santos to push on and then be ready to make the step up to top level football next season.
Farke must now push for the club to secure a deal for the talented youngster, who showcased his potential in Brazil, as he could be a dream partner for Ethan Ampadu in the middle of the park as an alternative option to Glen Kamara for the German head coach.

It has been the other side of his game, however, that has caught the eye this season. Ampadu has been a superb defensive screen in front of the back four for Farke.

As you can see from the table above, Santos, who was once described as "wonderful" by Kulig, also has defensive quality and could provide steel in the middle of the park to go along with his attacking prowess.
No Leeds player has made more than 2.4 tackles per match in the Championship this season, which suggests that the 5 foot 11 gem could be an outstanding performer at both ends of the pitch for Leeds if he can recapture that form from 2022.
He could, therefore, be a dream partner for Ampadu by being able to break forward from midfield to make an impact in attack whilst also having the defensive quality to sit in alongside the Welsh ace to shut out opposition teams.

An unbeaten 152 from Colin Ackermann, along with a remarkable 54-ball century from Lewis Hill, allowed Leicestershire to post their record List A score against another county and pull off a surprise Royal London Cup win against Worcestershire.Having registered totals of just 166 and 233 with the bat in their first two matches, against Yorkshire and Durham, it looked as though another low score might be on the cards for the Foxes when, having won the toss and chosen to bat, they lost two wickets in the first over of the innings, bowled by Charlie Morris.Paul Horton and Mark Cosgrove were both undone by swing, the right-handed Horton edging to slip before Cosgrove drove expansively and lost his off-stump.The pitch was hard and flat, though, and Leicestershire’s young left-handed opener Harry Dearden took the initiative from the start, driving solidly and using his feet well against the seamers as he and Ackermann rebuilt the innings in style.Dearden, whose 50 came off 46 balls, did enjoy some good fortune, most notably when he was dropped on 47, a tough caught-and-bowled chance to Ed Barnard, and on 62, a rather simpler opportunity put down by Daryl Mitchell at extra cover off Barnard.His luck ran out when on 91 he chipped a simple catch to Mitchell at midwicket off Josh Tongue, having put on 170 with Ackermann, a third-wicket record for Leicestershire against Worcestershire.In Hill, however, Ackermann found another productive partner.
