Man United: Ten Hag could make "eye-opener" move instead of Amrabat

Manchester United could revive their interest in Leeds United defensive midfielder Tyler Adams this summer due to the fact he has a relegation release clause in his current deal at Elland Road, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Which clubs are keen on Tyler Adams this summer?

According to The Daily Mail, Aston Villa are willing to activate Adams' £25 million release clause and Chelsea have also expressed interest in taking the USA international to Stamford Bridge.

Nottingham Forest, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United are three other sides keen on the injured midfielder, who has been sidelined since March with a hamstring issue.

Last campaign, Adams was a rare positive in a dismal Leeds United side, making 26 appearances in all competitions for the Whites, as per Transfermarkt.

Earlier this year, it was reported by Football Insider that Manchester United had looked at Adams as a potential recruit for the summer and were been impressed by his 'dynamism and energy' in the engine room at Elland Road.

The Mirror claim that Fiorentina defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is now in the Red Devils' sights as Erik Ten Hag aims to protect his back four and the Morocco international is believed to be desperate to move to the North West, despite additional admiration from West Ham and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to Football FanCast, transfer insider Jones believes that Leeds United midfielder Adams may come under consideration at Old Trafford once again if Manchester United fail in their pursuit of Amrabat.

Jones stated: "It’s not that common you see Man United and Leeds looking to benefit from each other in terms of transfers and the hostility between the two clubs will always exist, but in this moment when they are in very different situations in different leagues it’s intriguing to think about how they could deal with each other.

"The coverage around Adams having a release clause is a real eye opener and United have definitely looked at him in the past so if a deal for Amrabat didn’t materialise then maybe that is something they could look at, especially because Leeds are being linked with Brandon Williams and teams might be talking to each other anyway.

"One big worry around Adams will be his recent injury, I know a couple of clubs have been slightly deterred by that, but it would still be a surprise if he was at Leeds by the end of the window."

What next for Manchester United?

Manchester United will hope to continue recruiting wisely this summer as Ten Hag eyes building a side capable of challenging for the Premier League title.

Northern Ireland international Jonny Evans, who signed a short-term deal with Manchester United to participate in pre-season, is reportedly close to signing a one-year contract at Old Trafford after impressing in his short stint at the club, as per Belfast Telegraph.

Romeo Lavia

The Red Devils could also try to trump Liverpool to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia; however, Chelsea and Arsenal have also looked at the Belgian international, as per The Independent.

Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund will be announced as a Manchester United player imminently after both parties agreed a fee of £72 million for the Denmark international, who has undergone a medical at his prospective new employers, as per Sky Sports.

Carberry in, McKay out at Leicestershire

Michael Carberry has signed a two-year deal with Leicestershire, while Clint McKay has been released as overseas player after three seasons at the club

Michael Carberry has signed a two-year deal with Leicestershire.Carberry, the former England opener, joined the club from Hampshire on loan in August, with a brief return to the Hampshire side on T20 Finals Day.While he has not enjoyed an especially prolific start to life with Leicestershire – he has scored 42 runs in six innings with five single-figures scores and a high of 18 – he is seen as the experienced figure the side requires at the top of the order as they once again seek to rebuild after a disappointing season.”We have been looking to add an experienced opener to our squad and Michael fits the bill for us,” Wasim Khan, the Leicestershire chief executive, said. “Michael’s first-class record speaks for itself and this, coupled with his international experience and hunger to perform, will add significant value to the development of our younger players both on and off the field. It is great to have Michael with us for the next two seasons.”Carberry, who will be 37 at the end of this month, is far from the first experienced player signed by Leicestershire in recent times. The likes of Mark Pettini, Neil Dexter, Mark Cosgrove, Paul Horton, Colin Ackerman and Arun Harinath (on loan) have also featured in the Leicestershire top-order this season. All of which raises questions about how much opportunity is actually available to those younger players. The move brings to an end a Hampshire career that stretches back to 2006. During that time the club won four trophies – two in List A cricket, two in T20 – with Carberry featuring prominently. He also won England caps in all three formats during that period, most memorably opening on the Ashes tour of 2013-14 when he stood up to the hostility of Mitchell Johnson as well as anyone. He has previously had spells at Kent and Surrey and missed the second half of the 2016 season as he received treatment for cancer.”Michael has been an outstanding professional for Hampshire,” Hampshire’s director of cricket, Giles White, said. “He has been an integral part of many successful campaigns and has always been a very popular figure at the club. We all wish him well with the exciting challenge at Leicestershire and look forward to seeing him back at the Ageas Bowl in the future.”Leicestershire have also announced that Clint McKay will not be returning as overseas player in 2017. He has spent the last three seasons with the club but will finish 2017 supporting the coaching staff as Leicestershire look to the future. He claimed 136 first-class wickets for the club at an average of 25.79 apiece, including a best of 6 for 54 against Kent in 2015. He also contributed 1,099 first-class runs at an average of 21.54.”Clint has been a model overseas player and has made a brilliant contribution both on and off the field,” Wasim Khan said. “On behalf of the club, I’d like to thank Clint for all of his efforts and endeavours.”

Spurs Enter "Crucial Week" For Transfer Of Super Star

It's going to be a "crucial week" for Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich as Harry Kane has informed them that his future must be sorted before a ball is kicked in the Premier League this weekend, per transfers expert Fabrizio Romano.

Is Harry Kane leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer?

There are usually at least a few different transfer sagas that come to dominate the summer every year in football, whether that was the Gareth Bale to Real Madrid story in 2013, David de Gea's almost move to the same club in 2015 or even Declan Rice's switch to Arsenal earlier this year, Bayern's pursuit of Kane might be the biggest for quite some time.

The German behemoths have been incredibly persistent in their pursuit of the Englishman despite the constant signals from Spurs that their talismanic striker is not for sale for anything less than £100m.

So far, the Bundesliga champions have had three formal offers rebuffed by the North Londoners. The second was said to be worth just €80m (£69m), and the most recent one significantly more at €100m (£86m), however even that was deemed to be well below what Daniel Levy and Co are after.

Read the latest Tottenham Hotspur transfer news HERE…

However, where most clubs might've already given up on securing the signature of the superstar striker, the Bavarians look like they might push ahead with at least one more bid worth £95m to test the resolve of the Tottenham hierarchy, per Sky Sports.

That said, a decision will have to be made quickly as the player has informed both sides that his future must be decided before the club's Premier League campaign gets underway against Brentford on Sunday, per transfers expert Fabrizio Romano.

He explained the situation on his YouTube channel, saying:

"For Harry Kane crucial week in this case, this week because Harry Kane's camp communicated to both Tottenham and Bayern that they want the deal to be decided this week. Harry Kane's preference is not to leave after the first game in the Premier League this season; Tottenham play on Sunday, so the expectation is to get the deal done by Friday or Saturday; otherwise, the deal would collapse.

"That's the preference of Harry Kane communicated to both clubs, let's see what happens. Bayern had internal talks today to discuss again about the Harry Kane case, and some sources believe that they will bid again for Harry Kane, so that's the feeling internally at Bayern.

"We wait for a final confirmation but Wednesday is going to be an important day to understand whether Bayern will bid again for Kane or not. Some sources in the club believe that a new bid will be made to try one last time to sign Harry Kane, so it will depend on Bayern and on Daniel Levy absolutely, with the timing now being crucial because the player wants to make the move this week or potentially next summer, so that's the Kane position."

How old is Harry Kane?

Born July 28th 1993, in Walthamstow, England, Kane has just turned 30-years-old but has shown no signs of decline in his performances or output whatsoever, and if last year is anything to go by, he's just getting better and better.

In his 37 Premier League appearances across the 2021/22 campaign, the 6 foot 2 "monster" scored a respectable 17 goals and provided nine assists, giving him a goal contribution every 124 minutes, or once every 1.3 games, per WhoScored.

However, last season, in his 38 starts, the £200,000-a-week genius managed to score 30 goals whilst still providing two assists, meaning that he created a goal contribution every 106 minutes in the Premier League, or one every 1.18 games, also per WhoScored.

With numbers like that, it's not hard to see why the record German champions want to add the England captain to their ranks for the new season, as his presence would give them a much better chance to extend their domestic dominance onto the continental scene.

CEARÁ ASSUSTA LOGO NO INÍCIO

Tentando minimizar a chance do adversário, o Atlético logo deu a resposta ao time visitante.

Suzie Bates scored her second successive half-century to lead New Zealand women to a series-clinching 42-run win over Pakistan women in the third T20I in Sharjah. Bates’ unbeaten 65 off 57 balls (3×4, 2×6) proved the difference in a low-scoring contest, as Pakistan, chasing 127, slumped to 84 all out.Bates steered New Zealand out of early trouble after they chose to bat first. Natalia Pervaiz struck two early blows to leave New Zealand 31 for 3 in the seventh over, following which Bates took control, adding 57 for the fourth wicket with Katey Martin (25) and an unbroken 38 off 19 balls for the fifth wicket with Katie Perkins (14*).Pakistan’s chase got off to a good start, with Nahida Khan (23) and Sidra Ameen (16) adding 39 in 29 balls. But Sophie Devine’s dismissal of Ameen triggered a collapse that saw all ten wickets fall for the addition of only 45 runs. Medium-pacer Hannah Rowe grabbed three wickets, while the legspinner Amelia Kerr picked up two.

Cristiano Ronaldo's move from Manchester United to the Spanish capital marked a seismic shift in the footballing landscape, as he embarked on a journey that would elevate him to the status of a true footballing legend.

Ronaldo's transfer to Real Madrid was completed on July 1, 2009, for a then-world record fee. Wearing the iconic number 7 shirt once again, he was entrusted with carrying on the legacy of legendary players who had donned the same number before him. It's fair to say he didn't disappoint.

The ensuing years at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium were a masterclass in footballing brilliance. Ronaldo's records and milestones became a regular feature of his Real Madrid career. His prolific goal-scoring prowess saw him amass an incredible 451 goals in 438 appearances, making him the club's all-time leading scorer. One of the most memorable moments was his breathtaking goal against Porto in the 2009-2010 Champions League, showcasing his ability to score from impossible angles.

The years 2013 and 2014 were particularly emblematic. Ronaldo netted an astonishing 69 goals across all competitions in the 2013 calendar year, a feat that earned him his second Ballon d'Or. He repeated this accomplishment in 2014. His incredible consistency, remarkable athleticism, and dedication to his craft set new standards for excellence.

One of the defining moments of Ronaldo's Real Madrid career arrived in the 2013-2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid. Trailing 1-0 deep into injury time, Ronaldo's header levelled the score, paving the way for a dramatic comeback victory in extra time. This victory marked Real Madrid's 10th European Cup/Champions League title, labelled "La Decima."

Ronaldo's records extended beyond individual accolades. He led Real Madrid to two La Liga titles (2011-2012, 2016-2017) and numerous domestic trophies. The pinnacle of his club career came in the 2016-2017 season when Real Madrid secured a historic La Liga-Champions League double. Ronaldo's brace against Juventus in the Champions League final showcased his big-game mentality and ability to perform on the grandest stages.

Off the pitch, Ronaldo's impact was equally significant. His marketability, charisma, and dedication to maintaining peak physical condition elevated his global image and redefined the modern footballer's approach to athleticism and brand-building. Put simply, Cristiano Ronaldo changed the game both on and off the pitch.

Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival at Juventus in 2018 marked a new chapter in his illustrious career, as he sought to continue his footballing journey in Italy. His transfer brought immense anticipation, and he didn't disappoint, leaving an enduring mark on the club during his time in Turin.

He made his Juventus debut on August 18, 2018, in a Serie A match against Chievo Verona. He quickly demonstrated his scoring prowess, finding the back of the net in that game and going on to clinch his first Serie A title with the club in the 2018-2019 season. His impact extended beyond goals, as he influenced the team's mentality and performance on and off the pitch.

Throughout his Juventus tenure, Ronaldo continued to shatter records. In the 2019-2020 season, he became the fastest player in the club's history to reach 50 goals, while his remarkable consistency and work ethic were evident as he played a crucial role in securing multiple Scudetto titles for the Italian giants. In doing so, he showcased his adaptability to different football environments and leagues.

Ronaldo's achievements weren't confined to league competition, though, as he propelled Juventus to the Coppa Italia title in the 2020-2021 season.

Beyond his on-field contributions, Ronaldo's impact on the global appeal of Juventus was substantial. His presence drew increased attention to Serie A and the club, leading to a surge in merchandise sales, brand recognition, and international visibility.

After three hugely successful seasons in Italy, the Portugal international announced his intentions to leave the club and despite Manchester City reportedly coming close to securing his services, it was announced in August 2021 that he would be returning to Manchester United. Ronaldo ended his Juventus career with 101 goals in just 134 first-team appearances.

Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United

Ronaldo's return to Manchester United, for an initial £12.85m fee, came at a time when the Red Devils were in a very different situation to the one he left 12 years earlier. He left when they were dominating English football but this time, United were in yet another transitional period.

The superstar made his second Man United debut in September 2021, scoring twice in a 4-1 Premier League victory over Newcastle United. He followed that up in September with a late winner against Villarreal in the Champions League.

In December 2021, his two goals against Arsenal saw him surpass 800 career goals, but fortunes on the pitch for United were becoming fractured. Poor form and disappointing results under manager Ralf Rangnick saw Ronaldo become disillusioned with life at Old Trafford.

Despite that, Ronaldo ended his first season back in England with 24 goals in all competitions, although the club's failure to qualify for the Champions League fueled reports of a possible exit for Ronaldo, who wanted to continue competing in the continent's premier club competition.

New manager Erik ten Hag publicly claimed Ronaldo was not for sale, though, and Ronaldo did stay at the club beyond the summer. The first-half of the season, though, was filled with controversy, culminating in the Portuguese refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham, leading to him being dropped for United''s next fixture against Chelsea.

He did return to first-team action but it appeared the damage had been done by then. Public criticism towards ten Hag, the club and the owners ultimately led to a fractured relationship between Ronaldo and the club he once loved and he eventually left the club by mutual consent in November 2022, after scoring 27 goals in 54 first-team appearances.

Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr

In December 2022, it was revealed Cristiano Ronaldo would sign for Saudi Arabia outfit Al Nassr, with the Portuguese agreeing a contract until 2025. It was later confirmed that Ronaldo would be the highest-paid player in history, with his contract reportedly worth an astonishing €200m-per-year.

He made his Al Nassr debut at the end of January 2023, in a 1-0 Saudi Pro League victory over Al-Ettifaq. He scored his first goal a 2-2 draw against Al-Fateh, via a last-minute penalty. He ended his first season in Saudi Arabia with 14 goals in 19 first-team appearances.

The start of his second season in the Middle East saw Ronaldo lift more silverware as Al Nassr won the Arab Club Champions Cup for the first time in its history, with the superstar scoring twice in the final to beat rivals Al-Hilal 2-1 in the final.
