أكد الإيفواري ديفونيه لاعب إنبي السابق، أنه زار معسكر منتخب مصر أثناء التحضير لبطولة كأس الأمم الإفريقية المقامة في كوت ديفوار، ويتوقع وصول الفراعنة إلى المباراة النهائية أمام كوت ديفوار.

وتعادل المنتخب المصري مع نظيره الموزمبيقي إيجابيا بنتيجة 2-2، وذلك على استاد “فيليكس هوفويت بوينجي”، في مستهل مواجهات الجولة الأولى لدور مجموعات كأس أمم إفريقيا.

وقال ديفونيه في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “زرت معسكر منتخب مصر لأن مصر بلدي الثاني، وزاملت لاعبين مثل كهربا وأبو جبل من قبل، وكان علي أن أمنحهما بعض النصائح بشأن الأجواء في بلدنا لكي ينخرطا في البطولة”.

وأضاف: “كنت أقول بالأمس أن مصر مُرشحة لأبعد مدى في البطولة، لكن موزمبيق فعلت المفاجأة وتعادلت مع مصر، ولكن مازلت عند رأيي أن منتخب مصر سيصل إلى النهائي أمام كوت ديفوار”.

وأوضح: “لم أكن أتوقع أن المباراة ستسير بهذه الصعوبة، خاصة أن منتخب مصر كان لديه الإمكانية في إنهاء اللقاء في الشوط الأول، لكن هذه كرة القدم، لم تعد هناك منتخبات ضعيفة، وهناك أكثر من حصان اسود في هذه البطولة”.

واختتم: “من وجهة نظري لا يوجد قلق على المنتخب المصري، الحديث عن القلق بعد لعب العديد من المباريات، نعلم أن المنتخب يمتلك لاعبين جيدين ومنهم من شاركوا في أكثر من بطولة إفريقيا من قبل ويعتادون على مثل هذه الضغوطات”.

أعلن البرتغالي جايمي باتشيكو المدير الفني لفريق نادي بيراميدز قائمة مباراة طلائع الجيش في إطار لقاءات بطولة كأس الرابطة.

ويحل بيراميدز ضيفا على طلائع الجيش في الخامسة من مساء الثلاثاء على استاد جهاز الرياضة العسكري في إطار الجولة الثانية من دور المجموعات بالنسخة الثالثة من بطولة كأس رابطة الأندية المحترفة.

وكان بيراميدز قد تعادل أمام فاركو بنتيجة 2-2 في إطار منافسات الجولة الأولى من مرحلة المجموعات بالمسابقة المحلية.

Liverpool threw away a three-goal lead, but came back to secure all the points in the most dramatic fashion at Anfield. However, not everyone in a red shirt impressed, and Andy Robertson was criticised for his display against Tottenham Hotspur.

How did Robertson play against Spurs?

Liverpool were cruising as they went 3-0 up within the first 15 minutes, but Spurs clawed one back in the first half through Harry Kane, and could have scored more as they found space on Robertson’s side.

The left-back was poor throughout, as he consistently gave the ball away and was defensively suspect.

Spurs eventually came back to equalise, before conceding again right at the end of the game – and Robertson will have been relieved that his side did not drop any points.

Journalist Neil Jones criticised the defender, giving him a 5/10 rating, lamenting his lack of awareness in defence.

Writing for Goal, he said: “Switched off towards the end of the first half and put his team under pressure. Then played Son onside for the second goal.”

On top of this, the Scotland international also gave away possession 20 times and made two errors leading to shots, as per Sofascore. It was a poor display from the left-back and one he will want to put past him despite the result.

Do Liverpool need another left-back?

Robertson is Liverpool’s clear first-choice in his position, so the 29-year-old will likely continue as Jurgen Klopp’s main left-back following years of consistently good displays.

But as the Scot gets older, he may need to be rotated more in order to preserve his fitness and maintain the quality of his performances. As he has made 39 appearances across all competitions this season already, it is clear that Kostas Tsimikas may not be able to slot in seamlessly for someone who has been such a key performer for the club over the years, judging by the amount of game time he has been afforded by Klopp, which may suggest he is not of the required standard to truly push Robertson.

There were even whispers that Tsimikas could move away, and although these claims were shot down, if he did depart, Liverpool could be presented with an opportunity to find someone who can play a proper understudy role to Robertson, with an eye to the future as his eventual successor.

For now, though, it may not be a priority given that both Robertson and Tsimikas have experience at the highest level. Although he was poor against Spurs, Robertson is still an important player for Klopp and Liverpool.

وقال كونور برادلي في تصريحات صحفية عقب المباراة: “كان هذا حلمي منذ أن كان عمري 5 سنوات، أن ألعب أول مباراة لي في البريميرليج”.

وتابع برادلي: “لقد كان أداء جماعي جيد، نحن في حالة جيدة، حصلنا على فوز 4-0 و3 نقاط، نحن سعداء جدًا”.

Leeds United will surely need to pick up some positive results in their final four games if they are going to maintain their Premier League status this season.

Only goal difference sees the Yorkshire outfit sit ahead of Nottingham Forest in the bottom three as it stands, and with games against high-flying Manchester City and Newcastle United to come, Sam Allardyce must find a way of improving a Leeds defence which has struggled all season long.

No side in the Premier League has conceded more than Leeds and with a trip to the league leaders to come on Saturday, Allardyce will be searching for ways to keep the prolific Erling Haaland quiet at the Etihad.

The Norwegian forward has crashed in a record-breaking 35 goals in his first season in the Premier League and will be looking to add to his tally again on Saturday against a Leeds side that have leaked goals in recent weeks.

However, Allardyce could find a potential solution for the former Borussia Dortmund man in Pascal Struijk, as the Dutchman has been a rare bright spark in a shocking season for the Yorkshire outfit.

Should Leeds start Struijk against Manchester City?

According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old has been the top-performing player at Elland Road with a solid 6.77 rating across his 25 Premier League appearances so far this term.

Defensive concentration will be vital if Leeds are going to keep out Haaland, and Struijk's impressive average of three tackles per game this season (the second-best in Allardyce's squad), suggests that he could be the man to stop the powerful forward when he inevitably gets put through on goal by City's creative outlets.

While Struijk cannot be described as the quickest of defenders, he certainly boasts a decent turn of speed which the other defenders, notably Max Wober and Liam Cooper, arguably lack.

A deep defensive line will have to be a must for Leeds and Allardyce on Sunday, or they risk it becoming far too easy for the electric Haaland to go in on goal, and at six-foot-three, Struijk certainly possesses the physicality to deal with Haaland in the air, as is evidenced by his return of 2.1 aerials won per game vs the Man City man's average of 1.4 aerials per game.

The £50k-per-week defender certainly still has a lot of potential and has perhaps been underused by Leeds at times this season, given that journalist Conor McGilligan dubbed him a "ridiculous talent" earlier in the season.

If Leeds can force City to play the ball long to Haaland by playing a deep line, then Struijk could be the ideal man for Allardyce to select at the back as he looks to keep him quiet.

Mauricio Pochettino could prevent Mateo Kovacic from departing Chelsea when he takes charge of the club, journalist Miguel Delaney has suggested.

What's going on with Chelsea and Kovacic?

The Croatian international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with his £100k-per-week contract coming to an end next season, and Manchester City are rumoured to be eyeing up a move for the 29-year-old.

He has drawn criticism from fans for his performances during Chelsea's struggles in recent weeks and was withdrawn in the first half of their draw against Nottingham Forest with an injury.

However, Pochettino's imminent arrival at the club could change the trajectory of Kovacic's career in west London. Speaking on Sky Sports News, Delaney suggested that Pochettino is an admirer of the midfielder, and that he could play a part in keeping him at the club.

"We already know some of those that he's really keen on including Mason Mount, Reece James, Kovacic he quite likes, Kante obviously and probably feels he can get more out of him, Enzo Fernandez, his compatriot from Argentina," he stated.

Should Chelsea keep Kovacic?

Given that N'Golo Kante is suffering from injury problems, Jorginho departed in January, and Mount could leave, it may be worth keeping the Croatian for his experience.

Kovacic has made 220 appearances for the Blues since his initial loan move from Real Madrid in 2018, and he would be one of the few midfielders remaining from their Champions League triumph if Kante and Mount are no longer at the club or considered starters.

However, if Chelsea do sign another midfielder, with Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo linked, there may be no room for Kovacic in the starting XI, and if a bid comes in for him, it may be worth letting him leave now rather than for free next year.

Chelsea desperately need to sell players in order to comply with financial fair play rules, and given his age and the uncertainty over his contract, Kovacic may be seen as one of the more expendable players in the squad, even if Pochettino wants to keep him.

The Argentine manager will have a tough job on his hands as he attempts to rebuild this Chelsea side, and given his admiration for Kovacic, he may prefer to keep an experienced star, but if a sizeable offer arrives, then he may have to make a begrudging decision to sell him.

If he wasn’t able to take the gloves, Jonny Bairstow or Sam Billings would step in.The injury also raises the question of who would be the next in line for the gloves in Test cricket should Bairstow suffer an injury over the next few weeks.Billings is the England Lions wicketkeeper while Surrey’s Ben Foakes would be another option unless England changed tack and selected a more refined gloveman, who was perhaps a lesser batsman, knowing they have a deep batting order.The injury is a blow to Lancashire’s T20 Blast ambitions, as they aim to secure a place in the quarter-finals in a bid to defend their title, and hopes of progressing in the Royal London Cup. What’s the latest on Leeds and VAR?

The Whites are in a dire situation with just one final game left to play in the Premier League after tasting defeat at the London Stadium this weekend.

Sam Allardyce and co actually got off to a great start as they took the lead through Rodrigo – and the manager even found a £5 note on the side of the pitch.

However, things quickly soured in East London as West Ham equalised thanks to Declan Rice. Jarrod Bowen then scored in the second half before Manuel Lanzini sealed the result in the 94th minute.

This means Leeds will now go into the final day of the season in the relegation zone and will have to rely on results elsewhere going their way to even give them a hope of avoiding the drop.

However, as this image shared on Twitter shows, there is a case to be made that the last goal should not have stood.

Was Paqueta offside against Leeds?

While you can see just how tight the call is, it does look as though the West Ham midfielder’s trailing foot is offside.

Of course, we should be able to put out faith in VAR to come to the correct conclusion even when the margins are as small as this but sadly the technology hasn’t always got these calls right this season.

For instance, on the same weekend of action back in February, Mason and Neil Swarbrick made a mess of things as they incorrectly allowed Brentford’s goal at Arsenal to stand despite an obvious offside, while the lines were also drawn from the wrong place to rule out a goal scored by Pervis Estupinan as Brighton drew with Crystal Palace.

With those errors in mind, it’s hard to feel totally confident in the right decision being made at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

And with this particular decision being so tight, it does seem possible that Paqueta was marginally offside. After all, even Hammers’ writer for football.london Jonty Colman admitted: “That looked a fraction offside.”

So Leeds fans may have more than one reason to feel disappointed this morning.
